Back after an extended Christmas break :)

I've been doing some personal stuff lately - gifts for various people for Christmas, which is now over so i can safely post them. I used the opportunity for some pencil drawing and portrait practice.  This one is Tauriel from The Hobbit moves which was for our son.

Realized i hadn't painted a purple dragon - and purple is my favourite colour!

So, here she is, a patient momma dragon guarding her nest.

This one is a little Welsh red dragon - you can tell by the sheep  :)

Sticking with the whimsical fantasy theme - some more unicorns/alicorns. They are all watercolour/gouache but numbers 2 and 3 also have a little glitter in the background for sparkle :)

A bit of a break from dragons today. I had a sudden random urge to try painting some silver birches, so I ran with it. Was pretty fun to do and made a nice change :)

Been working on this one for about a week. It's A4 so larger than I've worked for a long time.

It started as a doodle while watching TV on a quiet evening and I decided - what the heck, I'll paint it up :)

Here is the larger beach image that I promised. This one will be the last of the beach themed paintings as I was getting a bit bored ;) This one is 6ins x 4ins.

I won't be posting for the next few days as I am off up to North Wales to stay with my parents and be a chief bridesmaid for my sister who is getting married on Friday :)

Sorry for the slight delay in posting the next picture but it was my birthday on Friday so I decided to give myself some time off.  A girl doesn't turn 40 every day ;)

This will be the last of my beach themed aceos though I do have a larger 6x4ins image to post in the next couple of days. This time I added a bit of sea life.

I used to love going for donkey rides on the beach at Rhyl when I was small. Shame they're not around any more - I'm sure our son would have loved it as much as I used to :)
